Hotel Novella Nantes Centre Gare

This place has a great location, just 1 km from a beautiful botanical garden, with easy access to the city center, Chateau, and public transportation.

The units were nice styled and compact with four beds plus cot.

Really polite and accommodating staff in all circumstances!!

Comfortable stay, great day spent here! the vibe was cool, place looked fresh, and had a nice shower 🚿. In terms of location, the hotel was super close to trams, the castle, and the downtown area.

Its proximity to the Cathedral of St Peter and St. Paul and the Tramway and river. A superb Restaurant La Taverne du Chatcau is three minutes away with a wide choice of Meals and Sorbets . The hotel garage is secure underground and we did not use our car after docking it, because of the Tramway and easy walking on flat paved sidewalks. Very popular with French out of City business women who breakfast around 0800hrs and walk to the Tram . Quiet at night, good shower and W.C facilities. Nice firm bed and crisp white towels and sheets. Book early or you will not get car space, only five spaces . Ten breafast tables and breakfast up to 1000hrs . Early morning is cramped but after 0900hrs it is O.K.when the ladies have gone to work. Pauline.

I have combined my report above because the hotel is very fit for purpose and works like a fine Grandfather Clock . You can come and go as you please and the single door to the hotel has a coded lock for each room occupied which is double bolted in and out. The lift serves three occupied floors and a number of staff live in the hotel.Good First Aid Room and equipment and fire hazzard is well under control with equipment and steel fire doors. There is a Dry Riser Pipe up the wall on the outside for the Fire Service Staircase to ground and roof . Pauline.

The receptionist extremely helpful (in days of air traffic collapse). The main places of interest in Nantes in walking distance. Close to the railway station. Close to the tramway station.

Room very basic - no place to put your things. Breakfast also very basic. At Booked.net, a smoking room was offered (one of the reasons of my selection of this hotel). However, on spot I was told that the hotel has no smoking rooms whatsoever.

The location was marvellous and excellent, not too far away from a municipal botanical garden. The room was stylish and functional in my bathroom, and we appreciated having access to wake-up service. The hotel staff were very friendly, and had a good understanding of english, were very helpful in pointing out some touristy things to do in the area.

I picked the double room by mistake as I was a solo traveller and I was hoping for a single room, I would have loved if the hotel had set me up in the single room as I ended up paying extra, the breakfast was pretty basic is well croissants, cornflakes, and fruit.

The Surcouf is good value for money. Our room was perfectly clean, with a good shower (if small and a tad in need of facelift). Its location is excellent, being only a 5 minute walk from the sncf station, buses, and airport shuttle. It is also 2-3 minute walk from the excellent Jardin des Plantes, the famous chateau, the wonderful cathederal and many old streets filled with charming shops and restaurants. Importantly, even though so close to many facilities, it is on a quiet street, and our room at the back of the hotel, was extra quiet. All in all, good value and a good place to stay. I would stay there again if I have similar budgetary constraints on my next visit to Nantes.

The only drawbacks were:1) the size of our room. Which was a little cramped.and 2) the shower cubicle was small and in need of a facelift.

I had a great value for my money, the room was comfortable and clean. The location was fantastic, with the castle, cathedral, and trams all within walking distance.

The breakfast option could have been better.

A teapot in the room - most of Paris ** hotels are having it. Good to have in Nantes too.

Conveniently located near a cozy cafe, the touristy green line, and stunning botanic gardens 🌿. the friendly staff were super nice and had great recommendations!

I liked the location of it, in a quiet street very near the castle and the cathedral. It is also within a short walking distance from the train station, which was most important to me on this visit. Very nice and service-minded staff, and the breakfast buffet is OK.

It turned out that the hotel was closed between 13:00 and 16:00 in weekends, so we were neither able to check in nor leave our heavy luggage when we arrived at 14:00 on a Saturday. This forced us to go to the nearest bar with all our luggage and kill a few hours before we could actually start exploring the city. Having just the afternoon and evening in Nantes, this was a major disappointment, especially since it was stated on my booking that check-in was available from 14:00.
